Team India, who are currently gearing up for the World Test Championships Final 2023 in the Oval against Australia, will depart for the Caribbean on July 5-6. The dates for the India vs West Indies series will be finalised once Cricket West Indies gets a go-ahead from the Indian cricket board (BCCI).

It’s worth mentioning that the agreement to play the last two T20Is in the USA is yet to be signed. The deal is expected to be finalised once the members of the two boards meet during the WTC final in London.

Team India last toured India back in 2019 and won seven of the eight games (two Tests, two ODIs and three T20Is) while one of the matches was washed out. West Indies also toured India in February last year and lost all six matches of the white-ball series (3 ODIs and T20Is each).

Earlier BCCI was also mulling over hosting Afghanistan for an ODI series. However, the bilateral series is likely to be put on hold as the board is yet to sign a broadcast deal since their old contract ran out with Hotstar. This will allow a month to rest as a gruelling season awaits for the Indian team, which includes Asia Cup and 50-over World Cup later this year. India are also host to the ICC event.
