As per the latest reports, the BCCI has already drafted the schedule to ICC where it is revealed the mega clash between the rivals will be taking place at the biggest cricket ground in the world. The match is scheduled on October 15, a Sunday, which further intensifies the craze.

With fans already high in anticipation for the gigantic clash, Ahmedabad may not be able to host the mega tie.

Here is the reason why the match may well be removed from Ahmedabad when the ODI World Cup schedule is officially announced.

Pakistan don’t want to play in Ahmedabad

One of the biggest reasons for the match to be removed is Pakistan’s reluctance to play in Ahmedabad. The PCB chairman Najam Sethi repeatedly said their stance on playing in the city of India’s Gujarat state.

Sethi cleared ICC executives that the Pakistan team will be willing to play in Ahmedabad if only it is a knockout match or the Final. With ICC set to take consent from all the participating nations ahead of releasing and approving the schedule, we may see a change of venue in the match if PCB insists the apex body of cricket to change the venue.

Apart from the India clash, Pakistan have got their venue wishes as all of their other eight group matches are scheduled in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru – two in each venue.
