Hafeez has filed a complaint with the police and claimed foreign currency worth USD 20000 (16 lakh Pakistani rupees) were stolen from his house by the robbers after they broke into his residence in the middle of the night between Sunday and Monday.
The Pakistani all-rounder’s relative informed the cops that he and his wife weren’t in the house at the time of the incident.
Hafeez (42) is participating in the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (SPL) 2023. The uncle of the cricketer’s wife lodged the police complaint on their behalf.
As per a News18 report, the robbers fled with money and other valuables from the house and the footage of the incident is reportedly available.
The right-handed batter is offering his services to Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing domestic T20 tournament after getting picked up by the franchise. He was initially not picked up by any franchise during the PSL draft but he was surprisingly included in the Gladiators’ squad as a replacement for Ahsan Ali. Ali was ruled out of the competition due to a knee injury.
The all-rounder was instrumental in Lahore Qalandars’ PSL 2022 title. The right-handed batter scored 69 off 46 balls in the final against Multan Sultans. He then picked up 2 for 23 in his four overs with the ball. Qalandars won the game against Sultans at Gaddafi Stadium.
