The senior politician took to his Twitter handle to raise the issue after a woman accused Rohan Jaitley, the incumbent president of Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA), of sexual harassment.
Another controversy hits DDCA
“BCCI must suspend Rohan Jaitely from Delhi Cricket Association President position till he clears his name in an inquiry conducted by a retired judge set up by the BCCI on the sexual involvement charge by a lady in DDCA,” tweeted Swamy.
A woman in a letter addressed to BCCI president Roger Binny, Secretary Jay Shah and NCA chief VVS Laxman on Wednesday (February 22) alleged that Jaitley ‘sexually and physically exploited her after promising to marry her’.
The woman in her 17-point complaint wrote, “…it is stated that during the entire relationship, Rohan kept assuring me that he was going to take divorce from his wife and I kept waiting patiently and trusting him. That this act of Mr Jaitley was very upsetting and emotionally draining.”
Serious allegations levelled against Rohan Jaitley
In her explosive letter, the complainant further alleged that after her relationship with Jaitley hit a rough patch, they took a couple of therapy sessions with a psychologist.
“It is stated that when the situation between me and Rohan worsened due to lack of trust, Rohan took me to DDCA psychologist, misusing his position as DDCA president, for couples therapy so that I stay in his life,” it read further.
She further claimed that she was offered money and even threatened on behalf of the DDCA president. “That Rohan and his family first tried to offer me money not to tell anyone about the relationship I had with him but when I told them that I do not want money but justice, they threatened to destroy my reputation and cause grave harm to me if I ever tell anyone about the relationship,” the letter read. She even alleged that the rooms for her stay were booked using DDCA funds.
Delhi’s iconic Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium was renamed Arun Jaitley Stadium in honour of former Union Minister and late father of Rohan Jaitley.
