Earlier, the visitors were earlier practicing at the Arundel Castle Cricket Ground in West Sussex. The final of the World Test Championship (WTC) will kick start from June 7 at The Oval where India have just two of their 14 Test matches.

India are looking to win their first ICC title since 2013 when they won the Champions Trophy 2023 under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
India lost the semi-final of the 2015 World Cup before losing in the final against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Later, they lost to New Zealand in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup.
In 2021 India were ousted from the league stage of the 2021 T20 World Cup. The side again lost in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022. West Indies had defeated India in the semi-final of the 2016 T20 World Cup.
